Imagine That Expeditions Tip of the Week:

Water levels are dropping in and around the Pinedale area. Fishing continues to stay productive mainly during the early morning and late evening hours. The next few weeks should continue to fish good with overcast/ rainy days in the forecast. Keep a close eye throughout each day on the water temps and make sure to give the river and fish a rest if water temps exceed 65 degrees.

Hatches: Midges, BWOs, PMDs, Caddis, sallies, Drakes, Tricos

Best Time to Fish: Early mornings/ late evenings

Best Stretch: Below Fontenelle Dam

Best Access: Below Lake Fontenelle dam down to Slate Creek Campground

GREEN RIVER:

Flow Rate:

  • Warren Bridge (316 CFS)

  • La Barge ( 655 CFS)

Water Clarity: Excellent

Water Temp: Low to mid 60s

5 Day Outlook: The next week is looking like great weather. Don’t forget to check those water temps!

NEW FORK RIVER:

Flow Rate:

  • Big Piney (331 CFS)

Water Clarity: Excellent

Water Temp: Low to mid 60s

5 Day Outlook: Early mornings on the New Fork should stay productive. Be sure to check water temps throughout the day.

GREEN RIVER BELOW LAKE FONTENELLE (TAILWATER SECTION):

Flow Rate: Below Fontenelle Dam (852 CFS)

Water Clarity: Good

Water Temp: Low to mid 60s

5 Day Outlook: No planned dam release change over the next few days. Hatches are becoming more and more prolific. Flow rate should stay consistent over the next week.
