Pinedale, Wyoming Fishing Report

June 3, 2025 Fishing Outlook & Conditions

Imagine That Expeditions Tip of the Week:

Runoff is in full swing. Our tip of the week is to wait and find water with good enough visibility (hard to find right now), or wait a few days to let the river settle a bit to increase your chances of having a good day. If you are going out during runoff, throw streamers, and be safe!

Hatches: Midges, BWOs, PMDs, Caddis.

Best Time to Fish: Run-off is in full swing. The rivers are dirty, and should continue to rise for the next few days. Expect another bump in flows before the end of next week.

Best Stretch: Below Fontenelle Dam to Slate Creek; Town to Airport

Best Access: Slate Creek (tailwater stretch)

GREEN RIVER:

Flow Rate:

  • Warren Bridge (1690 CFS)

  • La Barge ( 6170 CFS)

Water Clarity: Very dirty

Water Temp: High 40s to low 50s

5 Day Outlook: Flows are forecasted to continue to rise over the next couple of days before they begin to drop and clarity improves.

NEW FORK RIVER:

Flow Rate:

  • Big Piney (3820 CFS)

Water Clarity: Dirty

Water Temp: Mid 40s to low 50s

5 Day Outlook: Expect flows to begin to drop and clarity to improve over the next week.

GREEN RIVER BELOW LAKE FONTENELLE (TAILWATER SECTION):

Flow Rate: Below Fontenelle Dam (1930 CFS)

Water Clarity: Good

Water Temp: 52

5 Day Outlook: No planned dam release change over the next few days. This is a great option for the next few days with runoff happening on the upper Green river.
