Imagine That Outfitters Tip of the Week: Spring is here, and the fishing is on fire! Weather you’re still fishing for trout on the lower Guadalupe, or starting to hit the bass fishing hard, now is one of the best times of the year to be fishing in the Texas Hill Country! Get out, now is the time!

Best Time to Fish: Throughout the day

Best Stretch: Any

Best Access: Any

DEVILS RIVER:

Flow Rate:

  • Bakers Crossing (24 CFS)

  • Pafford Crossing ( 93.5 CFS)

Water Clarity: Excellent- slightly off color in certain sections- clear on lower river

Water Temp: mid 60s- low 70s

5 Day Outlook: Now is an excellent time to be fishing the Devils River. Pre spawning bass action is in full effect. One more cool front coming in next week will turn things on. Get out there if you can!

SAN MARCOS RIVER:

Flow Rate:

  • Martindale (99.5 CFS)

Water Clarity: Good / slightly stained

Water Temp: low 60s- mid 60s

5 Day Outlook: Flow rates are excellent for the spawning season. Water temps are perfect right now, bass fishing is on fire the past few weeks, and should only get better throughout the next month. Now is the time!

LLANO RIVER:

Flow Rate:

  • Junction (63.7 CFS)

  • Mason (74.2 CFS)

Water Clarity: Good

Water Temp: low to mid 60s

5 Day Outlook: Flow rates are holding firm and great for float trips. The bass are beginning their spawning season, and fishing is on fire!

UPPER GUADALUPE RIVER:

Flow Rate:

  • Kerrville (3.5 CFS)

  • Bergheim (54 CFS)

  • Spring Branch (45.3 CFS)

Water Clarity: good/ slightly off color

Water Temp: low 60s- mid 60s

5 Day Outlook: Flows near the headwaters are getting very low again, but holding around Bergheim and Spring Branch areas. Fishing has been hit or miss, but should be good over the next few months. Wade fishing is your best option at the moment.

GUADALUPE RIVER BELOW CANYON LAKE DAM (TAILWATER SECTION):

Flow Rate: Below Canyon Lake Dam (62 CFS)

Water Clarity: Good

Water Temp: Mid 50s to low 60s

5 Day Outlook: Flow rate has stayed consistent this winter on the lower Guadalupe. Fishing has been good for Trout and will continue to fish well throughout February. Cooler weather in the upcoming week should have the fish feeling good and feeding happily.
