Imagine That Outfitters Tip of the Week: The Fall fishing here in Texas is in full swing! Recent rains have replenished flow rates across the board, and the fishing has been electric! Be on the lookout for those “pre-front” conditions to get out on the water. This is arguably the best time of year to target bass! See y’all on the water!

Best Time to Fish: Early mornings/ late evenings

Best Stretch: Any

Best Access: Any

DEVILS RIVER:

Flow Rate:

  • Bakers Crossing (36.7 CFS)

  • Pafford Crossing ( 140 CFS)

Water Clarity: Excellent- slightly off color in certain sections

Water Temp: mid 60s- low 70s

5 Day Outlook: The Devils River is fishing great! Bass are chowing, Carp are moving, and the weather is starting to cool off! Recent rain this past weekend gave the river a much needed jump.

SAN MARCOS RIVER:

Flow Rate:

  • Martindale (97 CFS)

Water Clarity: Good / slightly stained

Water Temp: mid 60s- low 70s

5 Day Outlook: The San Marcos River has been fishing excellent the past week, and is showing no signs of slowing down in the near future! The Fall bite is on fire and the big bass are feeding heavily. The time is now!!

LLANO RIVER:

Flow Rate:

  • Junction (61.6 CFS)

  • Mason (85.3 CFS)

Water Clarity: Good

Water Temp: mid 60s- low 70s

5 Day Outlook: The Llano river is still flowing good with a bump from this weekend’s storms. Great conditions for a float trip. Water clarity is good to slightly off color in most areas. The Fall bite is on fire, and this is one of the best times of the year to get out and hunt those trophy TX bass!

UPPER GUADALUPE RIVER:

Flow Rate:

  • Kerrville (44.8 CFS)

  • Bergheim (90.6 CFS)

  • Spring Branch (90.1 CFS)

Water Clarity: good/ slightly off color

Water Temp: High 60s- Low 70s

5 Day Outlook: The Upper Guadalupe flows have continued to stay consistent with recent rains, and cooler weather. This is a great time to submerse yourself in one of the Texas Hill Country’s finest fisheries. Float trips are a great option at the moment as well as walk/wade missions.

GUADALUPE RIVER BELOW CANYON LAKE DAM (TAILWATER SECTION):

Flow Rate: Below Canyon Lake Dam (72.6 CFS)

Water Clarity: Good

Water Temp: Mid to high 60s

5 Day Outlook: Flow rate below Canyon Lake Dam has dropped slightly. Cooler temps are on the horizon, and Trout season is almost here! Holdover fishing should ramp up in the next few weeks once temperatures begin to cool. Early mornings, and late evenings will be the best time to go. Keep an eye on water temps during your outings to keep our TX trout healthy!
