Imagine That Outfitters Tip of the Week: October is here, and it’s officially Fall in Texas! The rivers are in prime condition, weather is looking great over the next week, and the fishing has been ELECTRIC! Bass are feeding on top water daily and starting to ramp up there food intake as cooler weather approaches. The time is now!!

Best Time to Fish: Early mornings/ late evenings

Best Stretch: Any

Best Access: Any

DEVILS RIVER:

Flow Rate:

  • Bakers Crossing (35.5 CFS)

  • Pafford Crossing ( 89 CFS)

Water Clarity: Excellent- slightly off color in certain sections

Water Temp: mid 60s- low 70s

5 Day Outlook: The Devils River is fishing great! Bass are chowing, Carp are moving, and the weather is starting to cool off! Flow rates are holding steady, but still a little bit on the low side. Slight chance of rain next week.

SAN MARCOS RIVER:

Flow Rate:

  • Martindale (92 CFS)

Water Clarity: Good / slightly stained

Water Temp: mid 60s- low 70s

5 Day Outlook: The San Marcos River has been fishing excellent the past week, and is showing no signs of slowing down in the near future! The Fall bite is starting to ramp up as big fish are starting to feed heavily. Slight chance of rain over the next week. The time is now!!

LLANO RIVER:

Flow Rate:

  • Junction (62.6 CFS)

  • Mason (75.3 CFS)

Water Clarity: Good

Water Temp: mid 60s- low 70s

5 Day Outlook: The Llano river is still flowing good at the moment from all the Summer rain. Great conditions for a float trip. Water clarity is good to slightly off color in most areas. The Fall bite is ramping up, and this is one of the best times of the year to get out and hunt those trophy TX bass!

UPPER GUADALUPE RIVER:

Flow Rate:

  • Kerrville (29.9 CFS)

  • Bergheim (51.4 CFS)

  • Spring Branch (52.8 CFS)

Water Clarity: Stained/ dirty

Water Temp: High 60s- Low 70s

5 Day Outlook: The Upper Guadalupe flows have started to trend downward, but there is a chance of rain over the next week that should help keep flows steady. Fishing has been a little tougher due to the off colored water clarity. This is a great time of year to fish the TX Hill country!

GUADALUPE RIVER BELOW CANYON LAKE DAM (TAILWATER SECTION):

Flow Rate: Below Canyon Lake Dam (72.6 CFS)

Water Clarity: Good

Water Temp: Mid to high 60s

5 Day Outlook: Flow rate below Canyon Lake Dam has dropped slightly. Cooler temps are on the horizon, and Trout season is almost here! Holdover fishing should ramp up in the next few weeks once temperatures begin to cool. Early mornings, and late evenings will be the best time to go. Keep an eye on water temps during your outings to keep our TX trout healthy!
