Pinedale, Wyoming Fishing Report

July 21st, 2026 Fishing Outlook & Conditions

We are now 3 weeks into the month of July here in Wyoming, and the season is still going strong! River flows on the Green and New Fork rivers are still holding steady and water temps are still safe for our fishy friends. Weather has been on the hot side making mid day fishing a little bit tougher. However, early mornings and late evenings have been producing some great dry fly action. Our guides are still seeing stoneflies, good hatches of mayfly species, and hoppers showing themselves more frequently throughout the day. Cloud cover is the key this time of year on the trout streams. With storms in the forecast, the next week should provide great opportunity to get out on the water and hunt these trophy trout! GREEN RIVER:

Flow Rate:

• Warren Bridge (915CFS)

• La Barge ( 1470 CFS)

Water Clarity: Clear

Water Temp: mid 50s- low 60s

5 Day Outlook: The upper Green flows are starting to drop. The lower Green has seen a bump over the past few days. Bug hatches have consisted of Mahoganies, PMDs, Stoneflies, Tricos, and Hoppers. Early mornings and late evenings are producing great dry fly action still. the weather forecast is calling for thunderstorms and cloud cover over the next 5 days. Get it while the getting is good, and good luck on the water!

NEW FORK RIVER:

Flow Rate:

• Big Piney (701 CFS)

Water Clarity: Clear

Water Temp: mid 50s- mid 60s

5 Day Outlook: The New Fork river is producing good hatches at certain times of the day. Fishing on the lower New Fork can be solid with overcast conditions. The Upper New Fork flows are holding steady and water temps are staying cold with the feeder creeks still bringing in a good amount of water from the mountains. The next 5 days should offer great dry fly opportunity.

GREEN RIVER BELOW LAKE FONTENELLE (TAILWATER SECTION):

Flow Rate: Below Fontenelle Dam (669 CFS)

Water Clarity: Good

Water Temp: low 60s

5 Day Outlook: No planned dam release change over the next few days. Hatches are becoming more and more prolific. Flow rate should stay consistent over the next week.
